DESCRIPTION:(…) Der Bambus wird zum Sinnbild. Deutlich treten die einzelnen Stufen… Wachstumsstufen hervor. Die vormals Pflanze wird durch ihre Darstellung gleichsam ihrer konkreten Bildhaftigkeit enthoben und gewinnt eine darüber hinausgehende symbolische Bedeutung\, vielleicht die der Lebenslinie oder der Lebensleiter\, bei der die sogenannten Wachstumsknoten für Wachstumsstufen menschlicher Entwicklungen stehen(…). \nEin Dialog ist entstanden zwischen dem äußerlich wahrnehmbaren “Detail” aus der Natur und dem innerlich wahrnehmbaren natürlichen Wachstum eines jeden einzelnen von uns. SUMMARY:Brixy’s Cosmos
DESCRIPTION:(…) At first sight the sheer size of this painting is overwhelming: Four canvasses are put together to form one large picture of 9.60 meters length and 1.80 meters height. The painting self-confidently dominates the entrance wall to the large area used for staff get-togethers and events. \nA voluminous diagonal in red and orange cuts through the painting from bottom left to top right\, its beginning and end – if there is one at all – being outside the picture. An orange and brown spiral winds around it loosely spaced irregularly. The rest of the pictorial space is dominated by an apparently homogeneous deep blue colour which also seems to spread endlessly in all directions and is composed of many different hues of blue and green as well as white and black. Often put lavishly on the canvas with the hands colour bands stretch horizontally across the surface in soft waves and accompany the eye feeling its way across a work of art ten meters long. DESCRIPTION:(…) Am treffendsten läßt sich Brixys Malerei wohl als eine Malerei der Stimmungen\, der Emotionen beschreiben; vom kühlen dominierenden Blau/Weiß über ein warmes Gelb/Orange hin zu brennenden Rottönen bietet seine Palette die gesamte Bandbreite menschlicher Empfindungen im Ausdruck der Farbe. So bieten sich dem Auge des Betrachters Topografien der Emotion\, gleichzeitig aber auch Vignetten zum Wein\, zur Arbeit des Wein-Machens und zum Genuß des Weintrinkens\, den wir nicht vergessen wollen. \nDen Sensationen auf der Zunge entsprechen die des Auges – vom ersten Schlürfen bis zum langanhaltenden Abgang. Brixys Arbeiten sind von Licht und Schatten gleichermaßen bestimmt\, kompakte und flüchtige Form durchdringen einander\, Schweres und Leichtes wechseln ab. DESCRIPTION:“(…) Looking at the paintings more closely we first of all notice the many layers of colour which form the pictures as such\, put on with brush\, hand or spatula and then partly scratched off again. At this level you can read the paintings as topographical landscapes disclosing their structure and inner coherence. There are lines\, spaces and fluid movements; the colours have flooded the canvas like lava. \nOf course\, we can perceive concrete shapes\, recognise vines and grapes\, and yet these are ephemeral\, can hardly be grasped as if one looked at an impenetrable thicket or network without being able to tell which is the foreground and which the background. But this is not all: In some way colour and form emancipate themselves on the canvas and almost seem to lead their own lives. In his paintings Brixy achieves a degree of abstraction which could also survive easily without any hints at figurative reference.  \n Speaking of figure(s): Our painter would not be Brixy unless he hid a figure in the painting here and there. It has always been the aim of his style of painting to capture vitality\, the very flow of life\, and therefore man and nature form an imperative and natural whole in his pictures.
