Dietmar Brixy will be represented at this year’s VOLTA Basel in June 2026. His works will be presented by Christian Marx Galerie from Düsseldorf. VOLTA Basel will take place from 17 to 21 June 2026 at the Congress Center Basel, Hall 4.U, Messeplatz 21.
With his participation in VOLTA Basel, Dietmar Brixy’s international exhibition activity will continue in 2026. At the same time, the fair marks the artist’s first appearance on this renowned platform, which has been regarded for many years as an important venue for contemporary positions.

With its curatorial focus on the re-examination of home and nation, VOLTA Basel 2026 opens a thematic framework that also resonates in a special way in Dietmar Brixy’s work. The large-format painting Wanderlust (2025, oil on canvas, 100 x 450 cm), which will be presented among others as part of the fair, refers to landscape not as a fixed place, but as an inner and outer space of experience. Between memory, departure, vastness and positioning, a pictorial structure emerges that translates questions of origin, belonging and perception into a multilayered, contemporary visual language.
