In the work series “Room”, Dietmar Brixy develops surreal landscapes full of magic that seem to unfold with archaic intensity on canvas or elm wood. Bizarre rock formations grow in the glistening light into the often stage-like scenarios, thundering swirls of color encounter delicately nuanced layers of color and develop their exciting dialogue. Quite sporadically, delicate fig leaves flash out of the force of these eruptive creation stories, citations from paradise. Brixy’s opulent fantasy worlds do not depict, they rather stand as synonyms for soul landscapes.
