2014 Brixy again stays true to the theme of ‘discovery’. He experiments with colour as light, broad surfaces and crevices, and leaves some raw areas unfinished. Whereas before the canvases were marked by a complicated interplay between front and behind, now iridescent ‘in-between worlds’ take over, with an enormous variety of ‘theatrical sets’. The result: a richness borne of painterly, lyrical colour gestures and an informal style which takes the viewer on an amazing, dazzling journey of ‘discovery’ bristling with the vibrancy of colour. Brixy invites the public to his anniversary show ‘TEN – Ten Years of Art at the Altes Pumpwerk’, surrounded by ‘Kitchen plastics’ (Anke Eilergerhard) and wood reliefs (Detlef Waschkau). 2014 sees the collaboration with Galerie Tammen & Partner (Berlin) enter its third round.
